135 IIC in Sofia – 100 Years Anniversary

On 9-11 November 2018 Bulgarian Association of Taekwon-Do hosted the 135 IIC, held in Sofia, Bulgaria. This event was especially dedicated to the celebration of the 100 years anniversary of the birth of the Founder of Taekwon-Do General Choi Hong Hi.

The instructors of the course were the Chairman and the members of the ITF Technical Committee Grand Master Héctor Marano (Argentina), Grand Master Ung Lan Kim (Germany) and Master Paul McPhail (New Zealand) who updated the knowledge of the participants including main topics of Taekwon-Do - fundamental movements, patterns, step sparring, free sparring, self-defense techniques.

A total of 98 participants took part in this event representating 12 countries – Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Moldova, Pakistan, Romania, Ukraine and USA.

The banquet of 135 IIC offered to all guests exciting evening which started with traditional Bulgarian dances, performed by “Sofia 6” ensemble. After that we celebrated another birthday of a special guest of this event Grand Master Panagiotis Gialamas from Greece.

The evening which we celebrated the 100 years anniversary of General Choi Hong Hi was concluded with a special cake with a picture of the Founder of Taekwon-Do.

In the end of the course all participants received participation certificates issued by ITF and the Chairman of the organizing Committee Mr. Vencislav Ignatov handed in memorial plaques of this event to each country participant and the instructors of the IIC.

All Bulgarian members would like to express their gratitude for the enthusiasm and dedication to Master Carlos Ramirez from USA and to Master Moustapha El Sheikh from Australia who leaded several training sessions in different clubs in Sofia after the completion of the 135 IIC!
