Acknowledgment to the participants of the AETF Open Taekwon-Do E-Tournament
  10th May 2021

Dear Referees, Participants, Coaches and Parents,
Together we have reached another magnificent milestone in the history of ITF Taekwon-Do.

Forced by Covid-19 to stop physically competing against each other, we still found a way to measure our skills in competition.

Last year the AETF came up with the idea of organizing a European Tournament, following the successful first E-Tournament, but also opening it up to the entire ITF community.

It was a great success with almost 900 participants who found the motivation and commitment to continue training rewarded.

Many of those involved do not know what it means to make a Tournament like this successful.

A lot of hours were spent in preparation and execution.

Sometimes there were some misunderstandings about how and what had to be done in order for it to be successful and unfortunately some people suffered as a result of miscommunication.

The organizing team helped to find a solution where they could, unfortunately we could not change the rules once the event had started. We hope you understand that, but it will certainly help in the future not to hesitate asking questions during the meetings before the start if something is not clear, so that everything is workable for everyone before the start.

We would like to thank the competitors and coaches for their participation and effort.

We would like to thank the referees for their efforts and the many hours of judging to arrive at the winners and the AETF Board for supporting this event.

A very big part in the whole organization and execution of this E-Tournament is Master Harry Vones, without his knowledge and I.T. skills none of this would have been possible. He was the great mentor for everyone involved in this event.

For many hours, sometimes late into the night, he was available and working for the tournament success.

A special thank you to him.

Also, we would like to thank the organization committee consisting of GM James Tjin a Ton - Masters Alexander Dunbar, Gordon Wallace, Coos van den Heuvel - Mr. Attila Solti and Mr. Leonardo Oros Duek from ITF E-books for their commitment and expertise. Without these people involved it would not have been possible.

Special thanks also go to the tireless efforts of the Sportdata team under the inspired leadership of Mr. Ronald Breiteneder whose software made this kind of event possible.

We hope that this form of competition will not remain the only one for too long and that we can meet again with each other like before Covid-19.

Once again, thank you very much for making this great event possible.
