The annual general meeting of ITF England was held over the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd of February 2020.
The meeting was preceded on Saturday by development session for the English national team which was attended by 60 students. This was a vibrant and energy filled session full of students hoping to get on the first rung of the ladder to compete in international tournaments . The new entrants were supported by existing members of the England national team as well as the national team coaches. ITF England will be organising more of these development sessions this year, which are open to blue belts and above who have the talent and the desire to become international competitors.
On Sunday morning master Kim Anderson 8th degree led a training session with the ITF England president master Anthony McKenna and master Nick Symonds. This session had degree holders from 1st to 6th degree attending and concentrated on patterns and fundamental technique.
The annual general meeting was then held in the afternoon. We were honoured with the presence of grandmaster Donato Nardizzi. The annual general meeting received reports from all of the board members who updated members on technical developments such as the Masters seminar series and the ‘Girls Who Kick’ programme, the treasurer gave an update on ITF England's accounts, which are now in a much healthier position. The new policies and procedures and the development plan which we have put in place were highlighted and progress with the national team described.
The Board look forward to another successful year with ITF England as we review our constitution and investigate new ways of supporting our membership.
